DEFINATION:
Physical child abuse involves physical injuries caused by abusers, leading the victims to serious injuries . It may also, at the same time, caused psychological effects on the victims, such as low self esteem and moon swing.

CAUSES
The risk factors for adults to abuse children include:

-Poverty
-Lack of education
-Being a single parent
-Alcoholism
-Other drug abuse
-Sad childhood memories
-Job and economic stress
-Lack of help from relatives and families
-Low level of tolerance
-Having high expectation from child
-Loneliness

EFFECTS
Common child injuries:
-Fractures in unusual places
-Bruise marks shaped like hands, fingers, or objects (such as a belt)
-Burn marks, seen when a child is placed in hot water as a punishment -- particularly "glove" or "sock" burn patterns
-Burns from an electric stove, radiator, heater or other hot objects, usually seen on the child's hands, arms or buttocks
-Black eyes in an infant or a similar, unexplained injury in a child
-Bite marks
-strangulation and scalding with resulting bruises

OTHER EFFECTS:
-Vent anger on weaker people or animals
-Depression
-Low level of discipline
-Turning into violent parents themselves

SYMPTOMS/ BEHAVIOURAL INDICATORS:
-Low self esteem
-Exhibit extremely passive or aggressive behavior
-Difficulty with interpersonal relationships
-Perform poorly in school
-Frequent nightmares
-Experience depression that can lead to attempted suicide.
-Avoids physical contact with others
-Wears clothing to purposely conceal injury, i.e. long sleeves
-Avoids physical contact with others

CONSEQUENCES TO THE ABUSERS:
Victims can be removed permanently from the parents' custody and the cause is sufficient to warrant termination of parental rights.
However, this experience itself can result in significant psychological problems due to feelings of rejection, or if the placement does not result in a strong, long-term attachment to new caregivers.

THE CONCLUSION:
If the period of child abuse gets longer, the costs on the child will certainly get bigger. This may lead to disfigurement, disabilities, severe brain damages, or even death. But the amount of harm will vary accordingly to the size, gender, age and strength of the injured party, and the ability to seek help. If the problem turns inexorable, the consequences will be dire.
